The QUALITY home generator!

Not feeling safe when the power goes out?

Spoiled food and a cold house with winter outages?

Revenue gone with the home office down?

Rolling blackouts and power outages got you down?

We have propane and natural gas electric generator sets in stock for standby or emergency power.

Winco units come in 5 basic sizes:

  • 8 KW This size is suitable for the basic critical electrical loads in your home.
It is our most economical size.

  • 10 KW Also suitable for basic critical loads.

  • 12 KW This size can handle a few more critical loads or a very small home.

  • 20 KW This size is suitable for all of an average size home. It is our most popular
    size.

  • 27 KW A little more power for larger homes.
The Winco units are suitable for outdoor operation and are powered by natural gas or
LPG (propane). They require remarkable little space and the sound level for these units make them suitable for residential neighborhoods.

These units are practical and they are affordable.
When coupled with an automatic transfer switch, your WINCO unit will provide you with peace of mind when the power goes out. And your business will continue to function.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. (Q) What size generator should I buy? How large a generator do I need?

A. To determine the answer to these questions you have to consider 3 things:

  1. How much emergency electrical power do we want to have (i.e.,
do we want to power the
entire house, or just part of it?)
  2. Will we have to change the electrical system to accommodate this unit?
How much will it cost to rearrange my panels to accept the various size units?
  3. What is my budget?

In general, a small house needs at least 12 KW. Most houses will need 20 KW
or more. The 8-10 KW sizes are useful when you need to protect only some of your
loads.

You should work with your electrical contractor to resolve these issues.

2. (Q) Why do you list 2 different kinds of transfer switches?

A. The Winco switch is less expensive, but does not carry a U.L. label. The
Zenith switches carry a UL label, which will be required if you obtain a building
permit for the installation.

3. (Q) Do you install the units?

A. No. But we will be happy to refer you to an electrical contractor
(Northern California only!) who can do the job for you. Just give us a call!

4. (Q) Are the units in stock?

A. Yes. Please see the attached delivery information sheet.

5. (Q) Can you deliver to my house?

A. Yes, for an extra charge. You may want your installation contractor to
pick up the unit from our warehouse (Northern California only!)

6. (Q) What are the terms of payment for these units?

A. Credit card or check. Allow 10 days for check to clear. Sales tax will be
added if shipped to a California address.
